It is easy to add your Alpaca map to your Squarespace website.
Get your Embed Code
1. Within the Alpaca editor, click into the map you want to get the embed code for.
2. Along the top white navigation bar, find the 'Embed / Share' button. Click this.
3. Find the green navigation bar and click 'Embed Options'.
4. Use the drop down to select your map display - Simple or Classic
5. Click the green 'Get the code' button.
6. On the right-hand side of your screen, expand open the 'iFrame' section.
7. Copy this code and have it ready to paste into your web page once you have done the next set of steps.
Set up Your Squarespace Web Page
Get your Sqaurespace web page ready by adding an Embed Block in the position where you would like the map to display.
1. Click the '+' icon within the page to bring up the content block options to add
2. Select the 'Embed' option
3. Click the 'Code Snippet' button under the 'Embed as...' heading, then click on the 'Embed data' option.
4. Paste the iFrame code that you got from the Alpaca editor into here. Save & Preview.
Fitting the embed to your specific Squarespace template
Each Squarespace template will vary slightly, and depending on your template and the width of the content blocks, you may still want to tweak the embed code to suit your website.
In general your map will display better, and lead to a better user experience if the embed is tall. If it looks like it could be squashed in your template, you might want to give it more height. You can do this by changing the max height in the embed code. A max height of 800px works well across most sites (see below where you can change the height to 800).
