Starting your mapping journey is easy! Follow the steps below to begin plotting your trip, trail or itinerary map. It's always easiest to begin by adding places to your map. Don't worry about the order or content at this stage; these can be adjusted later.
1. Add places via Keyword Search:
- Click on
ADD LOCATION
. - Enter the place name into the search box.
- From the dropdown, choose the right option or tap on the grey dot on the map to
ADD
.- Beware of similarly named places indicated by the 'Out of view' label.
- Your chosen place will be shown on the right-hand side list.
- For a more focused search, choose from ‘Venues’, ‘Addresses’, or ‘Localities’.

2. Add places via Map Labels:
- Select
ADD LOCATION
. - Hover over any map label or open street map icon.
- Press
ADD

3. Add by Dropping a Pin:
- For a more personal touch, click
ADD LOCATION
. - Point and click on your desired position directly on the map.
- Zoom in for a satellite view to place your pin precisely.
- After placing, provide a name and category for the location.
4. Add from Facebook:
Easily plot a business or place with a Facebook page:
- Using Facebook URL:
- Click
ADD LOCATION
. - Inside the search box, tap on the menu lines.
- Choose ‘Facebook Page’.
- Enter the Facebook page URL, like https://www.facebook.com/SanDiegoZoo, then press enter.
- Click
- Using Business Name:
- Type the business name in the search bar and select ‘Venues’.
- Type the business name in the search bar and select ‘Venues’.
5. Add from ATDW:
